The Brief
A major high street bank had identified a corporate objective
of integrating many of their separate operations in the
midlands area into a single dedicated building. A prestigious
new building was created in the heart of Birmingham City
at Colmore Row. This was to be a 'flagship' project with
efficient space planning and an integrated storage strategy
vital
to its overall success.
Crucially, Cubic was involved at the conceptual stage
of the project, which ensured that the building design
would be able
to facilitate a truly integrated storage solution.
Design proposals were quickly communicated using three
dimensional CAD drawings and budget costs were presented
to allow the project to progress at pace.
The following factors had to be addressed to ensure a
successful outcome:
· Available floor space
· Storage media types and quantities
· Flexibility
· Retrieval rates
· Ergonomics
· Health and Safety of staff
· Aesthetics
