The Solution
Providing a higher density of storage than with conventional equipment, yet at the same time freeing up considerable valuable floor space Mobile shelving was the obvious solution.
Centralised Storage Facilities were created by providing
mobile shelving systems to each of the floors. Each system
would be generic allowing for total flexibility and complementing
the original design emphasis of the project.
To overcome the raised access floor problem Cubic (Working
closely with the clients appointed structural engineers)
were able to design a custom specification track system
that would transmit loading directly to the concrete sub
floor,
thus bypassing the raised access floor altogether.
To harmonise the appearance of the mobile shelving Cubic
provided decorative end panels in a special silver grey
finish to match with the other site hardware.
Finally the systems were designed so that they could be
rolled together at the close of business and locked in
position
to provide the necessary overnight security.
