Multi-Floor Roller Racking Fit Out for Lloyds TSB

Lloyds TSB had identified a corporate objective of integrating many of their separate business and admin departments into a single dedicated building. A prestigious new premises was created in the heart of Birmingham city at Colmore Row. This was to be a 'flagship' project with efficient space planning and an integrated storage strategy vital to its overall success.

Crucially, CUBIC were involved at the conceptual stage of the project, working with the project architect and structural engineer, to ensure that the building design would be able
to facilitate a truly integrated storage solution.

CUBIC design proposals were communicated using three dimensional CAD drawings, together with detailed costs clarifying all options required.  These were presented at each 'key milestone meeting' to allow the project to move along comfortably on schedule.

"CUBIC designed, delivered and installed thirteen mobile shelving systems on time and on budget with each one tailored to the specific needs of our different departments - great work!"

  • Mobile shelving offered a significantly higher storage yield than with conventional equipment, yet at the same time freed up valuable floor space to increase 'head count'.
  • To cope with churn, generic shelving bay modules were provided to all systems. offering full interchangeability and internal fit out options.
  • System aesthetics were carefully harmonised with other items such as furniture and partitions for an integrated appearance.
  • CUBIC worked with the clients appointed structural engineer to design a customised track / raised access floor interface that would transmit load to the sub-floor.
