ODA

Olympic Delivery Authority, Canary Wharf

The ODA contacted Cubic to provide a solution to their ever increasing filing work load and to create a central secure storage room on two floors. Because of the amount of central filing, Cubic proposed that mobile shelving afforded the higher density, which in turn freed up valuable office space.

In liaison with the client, Cubic designed a system that would encompass all aspects of the clients filing requirements. Within the brief, a contingency for confidential filing was to be taken into account, which were overcame by fitting locking doors to individual bays of shelving.

The mobile shelving system had to take into account the placing of the mobile tracks on top of a raised access floor. In liaison with the project structural engineer we overcame the problem and additional floor pedestals were installed under the line of the mobile tracks.

All of the mobile shelving bays were designed to be generic and fully adjustable to take into account internal fit-out options.

  • Several options together with initial quotations were presented within 48 hours.
  • From the initial brief to agreed design took 5 days.
  • Cubic handled all surveys and liaised with the clients structural engineer.
  • From the agreed instruction to proceed the manufacture and installation took 3 weeks which complied with ODA programme.
