UK Bank Security Grille

Security Grillework Protection for a Major UK Bank

CUBIC were contacted by the security department of a major UK Bank with a requirement to achieve a unique physical security solution for several of their vital IT server units. The proposed grille work system was designed as a true 'one-off' to suit the particular requirements of the site and featured numerous highly innovative security features.

To ensure that adequate airflow was maintained, most panels incorporated carefully engineered perforations. These had to be large enough for air circulation and good light penetration, but also small enough to defeat the potential threat of cutting implements. A line of special modular grillework was also installed beneath the raised access floor (directly under the line of the main grille run) for additional security.

To afford maintenance access to the servers, the enclosure is accessed via a grille door that is fitted with a special motorised magnetic lock (allowing fully optimised hierarchical access). In addition, vital maintenance accesses is maintained beneath the raised access floor by means of special Knock-out sections in key locations, that offer clearance for cables and services.
